Understanding the Insights Page
The Insights page gives administrators a quick overview of activity across their organization. It uses charts and summaries to show what has been completed, what is overdue, and what may need attention.
The information you see may vary based on your permissions and the records available in InspectU.
Opening the Insights Page
Select Insights from the left navigation menu.
The page includes sections for:
- Inspections
- Tasks
- Assets
- Acknowledgments
- Logs
- Coverage Board
- Generate Reports
Select a section to view more information.
Choosing a Date Range
Use the date options at the top of the page to choose the period you want to review.
You can enter your own From and To dates or select a preset range, such as the last 7, 30, or 90 days.
Changing the date range updates the information shown on the page.
Customizing the Page
Select Customize to choose which information appears.
You can:
- Show or hide sections.
- Change the order in which sections appear.
- Select Reset to Default to return to the original layout.
The available options may be different in each Insights section.
Inspection Insights
The Inspections section helps you monitor scheduled and completed inspections.
It may show:
- Completion rate
- On-time completion rate
- Overdue inspections
- Inspections waiting for review
- Site coverage
- Noncompliant findings
- Repeated findings
Use this information to identify unfinished inspections, recurring problems, and sites that may need follow-up.
Site Risk Score
The Site Risk Score helps identify locations that may require additional attention. A higher score may be caused by overdue inspections, repeated findings, or other concerns.
Use the score as a guide, then review the site’s inspection history for more details.
Task Insights
The Tasks section shows the status of assigned work.
It may include:
- Total tasks
- To Do
- In Progress
- Complete
- Can’t Do
- Overdue tasks
- Tasks by priority or type
The Most Overdue Tasks table helps you quickly find tasks that require immediate follow-up.
Asset Insights
The Assets section provides an overview of equipment and other items tracked in InspectU.
It may show:
- Total and active assets
- Assets by site or category
- Equipment age
- Asset status
- Completed maintenance
- Maintenance activity
Use this section to monitor equipment condition, maintenance needs, and assets that may be out of service or ready for replacement.
Acknowledgment Insights
The Acknowledgments section shows whether assigned policies, documents, and notices have been reviewed.
It may include:
- Total acknowledgments
- Completed acknowledgments
- Outstanding or overdue acknowledgments

Log Insights
The Logs section summarizes information entered into active logs.
It may show:
- Total log entries
- Scheduled and completed checks
- Missed checks
- Out-of-range readings
- Compliance rate
- Activity by site
An out-of-range reading means a recorded number was outside the acceptable range set for that log.
Review out-of-range readings and missed checks to identify possible food safety, equipment, or recordkeeping concerns.
Coverage Board
The Coverage Board provides a site-by-site view of inspection and task requirements.
- Choose a date in the From and To fields.
- Select Apply.
- Review the results for each site and category.
Statuses may include:
- Complete: The requirement was completed.
- Due Soon: The due date is approaching.
- Overdue: The requirement was not completed by its due date.
- Not Required: The requirement does not apply to that site.
Coverage results depend on assignments being connected to the correct site and Coverage Board category.
