What Are Inspections, Checklists, and Reports?
Inspections
An inspection is a structured review of a particular area, asset, or process. It’s typically used to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify potential hazards, or assess general condition. Inspections in InspectU can be customized with various field types, ranging from text inputs to complex rating scales.
Checklists
Checklists are lists of items or tasks that must be completed during an inspection. You can create custom checklists to ensure all required areas are covered, whether it’s safety equipment checks, maintenance inspections, or regulatory assessments. Each item in the checklist can be marked as complete, incomplete, or flagged for follow-up.
Tasks
Tasks allow managers to assign routine or planned work to team members. Unlike inspection assignments that are created after an inspection, tasks can be scheduled ahead of time to ensure regular responsibilities are completed on schedule.
Tasks can include detailed instructions, to-do list items, assigned team members, and due dates. You can also set tasks to repeat automatically for recurring work such as daily checks, weekly maintenance, or periodic operational reviews.
Reports
Once an inspection is completed, a report is generated automatically. This report summarizes all findings from the inspection, including checklists, notes, photos, and comments. Reports can be customized in various formats, allowing for different layouts and presentation styles based on your needs.
