Understanding the Assignments Page
The Assignments page is where you can view and complete work assigned to you. This includes inspections, tasks, and acknowledgments.
The options you see may vary based on your role and account permissions.
Opening the Assignments Page
Select Assignments from the left navigation menu.
The page has three tabs:
- Inspections
- Tasks
- Acknowledgments
Select a tab to view that type of assignment.
Inspections
The Inspections tab shows inspections assigned to you. Each inspection may display its name, due date, status, assigned site, and available actions.
Inspection Statuses
- Assigned: The inspection has not been started.
- In Progress: The inspection has been started but not submitted.
- Action Requested: The inspection was returned to you for changes or additional information.
- Approved: The inspection was reviewed and approved.
Completing an Inspection
Depending on its status, you may be able to:
- Select Start Inspection to begin.
- Select Continue Inspection to return to an unfinished inspection.
- Open an inspection marked Action Requested to make the requested changes.
- Select View Report to review an approved inspection.
Before submitting, make sure all required responses, notes, photos, and signatures are included.
Viewing Completed Inspections
Select Show Completed/Archived Inspections to view inspections that are no longer active.
From this list, you may be able to view a report, review the inspection history, or archive an inspection.
Select Show Active Inspections to return to your current assignments.
Downloading an Inspection Report
To create a PDF copy of an approved inspection:
- Select View Report.
- Select Run PDF.
- When the report is ready, select Download or Share.
You can also select View All Generated Reports to find reports created previously.
Tasks
The Tasks tab shows action items assigned to you. Each task may include its priority, due date, status, and any connected inspection, asset, or record.
Completing a Task
Select Start Task to open the assignment and review its instructions.
Update the status as you work:
- To Do: Work has not started.
- In Progress: Work has started.
- Can’t Do: The task cannot be completed.
- Complete: The task is finished.
If a task is connected to another item, select the link under Attached To to view it.
Viewing Completed Tasks
Select Show Completed/Archived Tasks to review finished or archived tasks.
Select Show Active Tasks to return to your current assignments.
Acknowledgments
The Acknowledgments tab contains policies, documents, notices, or other information that your organization requires you to review and confirm.
Completing an Acknowledgment
- Select Acknowledge beside the assignment.
- Read the instructions.
- Review any attached documents.
- Upload a file if one is required.
- Select I Acknowledge to confirm that you reviewed and understood the information.
A confirmation message will appear when the acknowledgment is complete.
Viewing Completed Acknowledgments
Select Show Completed/Archived Acknowledgments to view items you previously completed.
Select Show Active Acknowledgments to return to your current assignments.
Searching and Filtering Assignments
Each tab includes tools to help you find an assignment:
- Use the Search field to search by name.
- Select Show Filters to narrow the list by details such as status, priority, category, or due date.
- Select Apply Filters to update the results.
- Select Clear All Filters to return to the complete list.
Customizing the Table
On the Inspections tab, select Show Fields to choose which details appear in the table.
You can add or remove fields, drag them into your preferred order, and select Save.
You may also be able to:
- Select a column heading to sort the list.
- Change the number of entries shown on each page.
- Use Previous and Next to move between pages.
Additional Actions
Depending on the assignment and your permissions, icons at the end of a row may allow you to:
- Start or continue an assignment.
- Review assignment history.
- View a completed report.
- Archive an assignment.
Helpful Tips
- Check the Assignments page regularly for new work and upcoming due dates.
- Use the three tabs to move between inspections, tasks, and acknowledgments.
- Use search and filters when you have many assignments.
- Include all required information before submitting your work.
- Read attached documents before selecting I Acknowledge.
- If an assignment or action is missing, contact your InspectU administrator.
