Understanding the InspectU Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you see after signing in to InspectU. It gives you quick access to assignments, inspections, tasks, and other important information.
What you see may vary based on your role and account permissions.
Opening the Dashboard
The Dashboard normally opens automatically when you sign in.
To return to it from another page, select Dashboard from the left navigation menu.
Quick Actions
Quick Actions are shortcuts that help you start common activities. Depending on your permissions, you may see options such as:
- Create Inspection: Build a new inspection template.
- Schedule Inspection: Assign an inspection to a user or site.
- Review Inspection: Review inspection assignments and submitted results.
- Plan Task: Assign follow-up work to a user or site.
- Compose Message: Send an announcement or update to your team.
- View Inspections: Open your assigned inspections.
- Create Log: Set up a log for collecting information.
- Create Asset: Add equipment or another item you want to track.
- Create Acknowledgment: Send a policy or document that requires confirmation.
- Maintenance Task: Schedule equipment maintenance or service.
Select an action to begin.
In Progress
The In Progress section shows inspections that you have started but not completed.
- Select Continue to return to an inspection and finish it.
- Select Edit to change the assignment, if you have permission.
- Use the arrow on the right to view additional inspections.
Before submitting an inspection, make sure all required responses, notes, photos, and signatures are included.
Coverage Board
The Coverage Board helps administrators and managers monitor inspection requirements across different sites and categories.
The board may show the following statuses:
- Complete: The requirement was completed.
- Due Soon: The due date is approaching.
- Overdue: The requirement was not completed by its due date.
- Not Required: The requirement does not apply to that site.
Change the Date Range
To view inspection coverage for a specific period:
- Select a starting date in the From field.
- Select an ending date in the To field.
- Select Apply.
The board will update to show results for the selected dates.
Manage Categories
Users with permission can select Manage Categories to organize inspection requirements. Examples include:
- Kitchen and Food Preparation
- Sanitation and Pest Control
- Dry and Cold Storage
- Site Monitoring
- On-Site Reviews
After creating a category, connect it to an inspection assignment. This allows InspectU to track whether the requirement has been completed for each site and reporting period.
