Templates Overview
The Templates page is where you create, manage, and organize all inspection and checklist forms used across your organization. These templates define the structure of your inspections and ensure consistency in how data is collected.
Getting There
Click Templates from the left-hand navigation menu. From here, you can view your active templates or access archived ones.
What You Can Do on the Templates Page
- Create and manage inspection and checklist templates
- Build forms using sections and questions
- Edit organization-created templates
- Preview templates before using them
- Archive or restore templates as needed
Understanding Templates
Templates are made up of sections, also called steps, and each step contains individual questions. This structure helps organize your forms and makes them easier to complete during inspections or checklists.
Managing Templates
Each template is listed in a table where you can:
- Click the template name to open and edit it
- Preview the template to review its content
- Archive templates that are no longer in use
Only templates created by your organization can be edited. Templates imported from the Library are read-only but can still be used and archived.
Using the Library
You can click Go To Library to browse pre-built templates provided by InspectU. Once you find a template you want, you can import it into your Templates page and start using it right away.
Archive and Restore
Archived templates are not deleted. They are simply removed from the active list and stored in the Archive tab. You can restore them at any time if needed.
Tips for New Users
- Use clear names and categories to keep templates organized
- Preview templates before using them to ensure they meet your needs
- Use the Library to save time instead of building from scratch
- Archive unused templates to keep your list clean
